Week 15 of my quit smoking journey

Hi all! Today marks 15 weeks since I've quit smoking. I think it's also somewhere around 3 1/2 months since Dec. 14 will be 4 months. Whoo Hoo!!!!! Amazing!

I started walking a little today with my daughter since we both have gained more weight than what we are comfortable with since we've quit smoking. I'm hoping that she gets a little more in shape soon because she can't walk for very long without quitting. lol Today we only walked 3/4 of a mile and she was done.

Tomorrow I'm getting some new labs done and I'm anxious to see if quitting smoking has helped my cholesterol. I'm on medication now too so between the both of them, it should be down. We'll see. The last labs that I had done were a disappointment. The only thing that went down was my good cholesterol. lol

I'm still craving those darn cigs quite often. I am positive that I never want to be a smoker again, so why won't the demons leave me alone? Grrrr!!!!!

Hope everyone's quits are going well!

Sue, glad to hear you are walking! I'm back on track after the long weekend, and walking one or two miles a day (depends on weather whether I can get both morning and afternoon walks into my day). I think it's awesome that your daughter made it 3/4 mile, and I'm sure she will make it further little by little. I wish I didn't sometimes still have my little tuggings to smoke knowing that I never want to go back. Someday I hope those will go away, too.

I'm not sure if the walking's going to work for me or not yet. My ankles are pretty painful today and my back hurts. I guess I'll just have to give it a little bit and see if it gets better. If not, I'll try something else.

It was cold here this morning so we chickened out anyway. Hopefully the mornings won't be that cold every day.

Glad for you though Maggie that you can walk. :)

Congrats on 15 weeks - that is HUGE! And yes, those pesky demons have worn out their welcome. Hang in there...

Sue, you are a little further into your quit than I am, but we're both doing well! It's so nice to read another Chantix success story. I wish you all the best with your quit and hope you get great news from your doctor tomorrow. Keep fighting against those cravings!

Heya Congrats on the 15 week quit and stay strong--i quit for now going on 4 weeks and i am walking 2 miles per day and i'll tell you it helps.Walk slowly, breathe through your nose and exhale through your mouth and remember,Rome wasn't built in a day so slowly build to your walk daily :)
