143 days!, I think

Wow, I hadn't realized that I haven't posted in so long until it was pointed out to me a few minutes ago. Sorry guys! I didn't mean to be a party pooper, time just slipped away.

I actually stayed up on New Years Eve until after midnight! We had our daughter and her two kids over and we played board games to pass the time. Before we new it, it was New Years. I can't tell you how many years it's been since we were awake at midnight on New Years. lol I do wish however, that I hadn't seen Dick Clark. Hearing that shakey old voice coming out of a surgically tightened face was kind of freaky. I would have much preferred to see him in his natural state.

Although I still crave a cigarette more than once each and every day, I am starting to feel more and more like a non-smoker. I'll bet if I smoked one, I wouldn't even like it. :) My husband and I were just thinking about how much money we use to spend on cigarettes. Before he quit 2 1/2 yrs ago, we both smoked better than a carton a week. At that time, it was costing us about $45.00 a week. That's almost $200 a month! Holy cow, what were we thinking? After he quit, I stopped smoking in the house which cut my smoking down to less than a pack a day which was less, but still a silly way to spend money. I don't know how some people who live in high cigarette tax states can afford to smoke. I think that it's wrong to make the smokers pay for every little thing when a state needs money. Even though I don't smoke anymore, I feel that it is so wrong. They don't want smoking in their states, yet everytime they need money, they go to the smokers to get it. :(

Have fun shopping for a treadmill mamaflo. My daughter just got one and has just started using it. I'd love to have one to excercise on, but I don't have the room for one, and my back can't take all the walking. I do need to restart my exercising though. I'm planning on starting pilates again the first of the week. It's pretty low impact so shouldn't bother my back, ankles, or neck too much. I've done it in the past and it's a nice stretching workout.

I will try to be more efficient in keeping up my posts. It just seems like I've been so busy since the first of November that I haven't had time for anything. My company is all gone and sales have slowed down a bit, so hopefully now I can get back to a normal schedule. I plan on getting busy this year with some work for the church. Maybe something like visiting shut-ins or something like that. God has been good to me, it's time to pay a little back.

I am going to try to get around to all of your guys's blogs over the next day or two and leave a hello. I'm still getting caught up with work, so it may take me a few days.

Happy New Year to everyone and Happy Smoke-Free 2008!

So wonderful to hear how much better you are sounding! I understand thinking about smoking still these days but not actually wanting to do it as much as in the past. Good stuff for a new year!
