253 days since I quit smoking!

It's now over 36 weeks since I quit smoking. Woo Hoo! I'm finding less and less time to blog now that the weather has improved.

I just got some teeth pulled a couple of days ago and we have been getting our vegetable garden out. I'm going to try and finish it up today so that I can start working on my flower gardens.

I've gotten most of my painting done inside with just one room yet to do. I need to clean my windows and wash some areas on the outside of my house too, so my list of chores just keeps getting longer.

Yesterday, I was blessed six times! We started our meals to shut-ins and elderly project yesterday at church and I went on six deliveries with a couple of other ladies. The people that we delivered to were just tickled pink to have us come and visit (I didn't know any of them but the other ladies did) and they all invited us in to chat for a little while. The ones that we visited were full of stories and memories and treated me like I had known them forever. Most were 90 or older with the oldest being 97 (she kept a big farm house by herself and got along just great, what a lady!). They were all very thankful for the meal that we brought them and planned on eating it for dinner. It was a bigger blessing for me than I imagined.

I hope all of you quitters are still quitting! :) Happy Spring!

8 months since I quit smoking!

Wow, can you believe it? I can hardly believe that it has been 8 months since I quit smoking. As every day passes now, I am more and more convinced that I will never smoke again. Never again will I be a slave to the tobacco master. It's a wonderful feeling that I never dreamed I would experience. Thank you again God & chantix! woo Hoo!

It's a cold morning here in Tennessee today. Our temperatures are on a roller coaster right now. Typical for spring but strange just the same. It was 84 degrees on Friday, and yesterdays high was 50! weird! This morning and tomorrow morning, we have a freeze & frost warning. I went out yesterday armed with a bunch of white grocery bags and covered up all of my flowers. The next few days is suppose to be 10 degrees warmer than the day before and we should be back in the 70's in a couple of days and remain there thank God!

We started preparing some ground for our garden this year and still have a lot of work to do to it. We are tilling up a couple of areas that have never been planted before and there's lots of work to do. Hopefully we'll be planting by this weekend. I just love a vegetable garden!

Well, I'd better get going for now, but all of you quitters, keep on a quittin okay?

Week 33 and still going strong

I realized today for the first time that I will never smoke again. Why would I? I enjoy being a non smoker and will remain one. The thought of smoking makes me go yuck anymore. I never thought that I would feel that way. I no longer feel sorry for myself because I can't smoke. I now choose not to smoke and I don't feel like somebody is stopping me from doing something that I want. Yippeee!!!! I've made it...by golly, I've made it!!!!

I heard this morning that a pack of cigarettes in New York just went up to almost $9.00 a pack!!!! Can you believe that? Smoking there now will cost you a car payment!

I am so glad for the blogging community who helped me along my journey to quit smoking and I hope that my own blog may have helped some as well.

For all of you who are still early in your quit, keep going. It's gets better, really it does.

For those of you who are just thinking of quitting, go ahead, you can do it. If someone like me who smoked for almost 35 years and thoroughly enjoyed it can quit, anybody can quit. I know you can so grab some Chantix and get started!

I hope everyone is enjoying spring. It is an absolutely gorgeous day here. It's about 75 degrees and partly sunny. I took a look at my flower gardens this morning and I've got Hosta's, Hydrangeas, and some other of my perennials coming up. What a beautiful day!

Happy quitting!
